My Writing Piece Enjoy!

Crisis… after the attack!

Prologue: This story is about Marvin Abidin and his Islamic family with Alia and his son Jason living their life in New York city with everyone else in Brooklyn. This life of theirs is about to change as they witness the saddening attack on 9/11 of the Twin Towers/ World Trade Center in Manhattan near Time Square. Before their life everything was fine. Their heart beats everyday having to go through the same actions all the time. Marvin's' son has just been accepted into the High school football team, Black Dragons, as the starting quarterback and leader of the team. Marvin himself has successfully been skipping over promotions to being a Co-CEO and BEO of his company. Alia has found 2 very nice jobs both as top managers but has found her place as a waiter in a restaurant. The family feeling an urge of success and hopes to live like so for the rest of their lives. Until the start of that very day.

9/11: September 11, 2001. Alia and her son Jason were at home. Jason lying down on the bed as it was a Saturday and Alia getting ready for her watering job at Dum Buggy restaurant. Marvin was already off to work at his company receiving today his first pay check as a C.E.O..
"When will be home?" Alia spoke to Marvin.
"At about 7:00, we have a meeting today so that's why its so late," replied Marvin.
"I'm almost ready to head off to work ok. I want you to come home and make the dinner for Jason," begged Alia
"I'll try but I won't know," answered Marvin.
"What are you doing right now?" wondered Alia toward Marvin.
"Just watching the news before I get the sales reports from this week," Marvin answered again but quietly.
"Ohhh my gosh. Marvin! MARVIN! The NEWS! The NEWS!" Alia yelled at the top of her voice.
"What's going on? Alia! Alia, hello! Alia what's on the news? Where, what channel? Alia?" Marvin asked worried but calmly. His heart then gave a heavy beat as he flicked through the news channels witness a defeating sight. Before him he saw a throat clinching and jaw dropping event. He saw in front of him the WTC hit by an airplane. His heart beat started racing. His mouth paralyzed by fear and astonishment. What could be happening? Who were the drivers of the jet? What's going to happen? These questions race through his mind as he grasped his head in emotional pain.
Back home Alia is sobbing her tears with a wet tissue. She watched the tower slowly break apart in the fire. She noticed people jumping from the gaping holes of the tower. She didn't understand. She couldn't recognize what could be happening. Jason rushed over to bear his mother's pain as he took notice of the sighting on the T.V. His mouth blazed in amaze at what is going on.
"Mom! What's going on? What is it? Is that the World trade Center mom, the Twin Towers? Mom, mom!" Jason spoke asking questions to his mother. Jason took a step back. Wondering what might be happening, he took a knee toward the ground to think out this brain teaser.
Soon after the fire department rushes in to save the people of the accident another plane hits the 2nd twin tower. It then became known to New York City, they are in war. This wasn't a simple accident. 2 planes don't crash into the largest buildings in the world. Especially on a day known as September 11th, 911. Marvin went ahead to call out all his fellow co-workers. "John, Meredith! The news, turn the on the news!" Marvin yelled rushing his mouth.
"We're seeing it Marvin. We know," John answered almost silently as if he was in dear pain.
"What is happening? Two planes don't come and smash into the World Trade Center!" Meredith wondered.
At about 11:03 AM that morning, it was announced that America was in dear trouble and indeed in war with Islamic extremists. Watching the announcer put forth those words for all of America to hear left Alia speechless. Islamic extremists, she'd known there are many of these terrorists. She'd never think that they would attack here and now. She became worried at the shape the world is turning into. Not a peaceful circular world of freedom and kindness. No anything but that. This world is becoming irregular. Irregular to Alia and her family. To Marvin and the others. Alia didn't know what to do then. Her heart almost stopped in expression to this painful event. What was she going to do now?

Alia and Marvin lose their jobs: September 28th, 2:00 in the afternoon Alia is at her work when she is called into the back office.
"Ummm, sir you asked for me?" Alia asked wondering for the cause.
"Alia I want you to come sit down here on the chair. We are going to have to discuss something," Alia's boss told her.
"Is there a problem sir? I've been working fairly hard in my…" Alia said being broken up.
"No no no. Alia… do you remember what happen a few weeks ago? The attack on the WTC? This concerns that. Ever since New York has lost that specific building, we've been experiencing some problems in the employees pay and we've been cut down on our funds. This has made Ellen our marketing salesman come to a conclusion. Ellen holds a lot of power in this catering business. She controls who works here and how much money is given out. I'm afraid to say that you have been taken of your job here at the restaurant. Your going to have to resign from the work area," Alia's boss said in a short mannered and sorry voice.
"I understand. I'll leave with my things in an hour," Alia said sobbing yet understanding the problem here. As Alia leaves the room of the restaurant she sees her co-workers holding cupcakes made of Butter-Cream, her favorite. Thinking she'd been made a good-bye gift she walks toward her co-workers asking if they were.
"Did you guys make these for me?" Alia asked.
"Hell yeah! You think we're going to let you leave with out a gift? Well your wrong you stupid Muslim BITCH!" on of Alia's co-workers yelled.
"Wait what's going on?" Alia wondered starting to sob again.
"You heard him! Don't you remember? When your brothers attacked the WTC? HUH? YOU STUPID BITCH! MY UNCLE FUCKING DIED IN THERE! DO YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE HE WAS ATTACKED BY YOU STUPID MOTHERFUCKING MUSLIMS! WHAT DOES NEW YORK DO? NOTHING! NOTHING! BUT I'M DOING FOLLOWING THE GOVERNMENT ON THIS SHIT!" another co-worker yelled as tears followed from his eyes as his whole body dripped in anger. Everyone took a cupcake and started pelting them at Alia. Alia started running for the door but she already was covered in the desecrated cream of everyone's tears.
Alia headed home crying and not stopping to catch a breath. Her eyes wouldn't stop watering and her hands not losing grip. She was angry as well as all the other New Yorkers. Why would they do this she thought.
Marvin was already at his work place taking down notes for the shipping of his company. He was supposed to find the correct time for the best shipping and quality of their products. Everything counted on him at the company. Soon enough, he was called in by the owner of the company.
"Marvin, may I speak to you in my office?" Marvin's boss asked.
"Sure boss anything wrong?" answered Marvin replying with another question.
"Just come in," said Marvin's boss. There Marvin fell in the same fate as his wife. He was demoted down to a shipping instructor down at the warehouse of the business.

Jason gets in a fight on the field: November 12th 4:00 Pm. Jason was getting out of football practice as one of his teammates come in front of him and starts speaking oddly. "How's it going Jason? Huh?" asked Belum.
"Fine Belum. Uhh, what are you doing?" answered Jason following up with a question.
"You know my dad died on September 11th right? Yeah know whose fault it was? Your fault you stupid dick!"
"What the hell is your problem man?"
"You wanna know what my problem is? You are a FAGGOT!"
"Dude shut up. I didn't do shit and I'm not going to deal with you!"
"Oh the little boy is going to run away huh? Go away to his fake ass parents. Losing their jobs!"
"You shut your fucking mouth right now or I'm going to shut it for you!" Jason rushes in with his hand on Belum's neck.
"You little pussy. What you going to do? Bomb me?"
"You little shi…" Jason gets interrupted by the coach.
"THAT’S ENOUGH! YOU TWO GET YOUR ASSES INTO THE LOCKER ROOM AND I DON’T WANT TO HEAR A SINGLE PEEP! DO YOU HEAR ME?" The coach yelled arms flailing in the air.
"Yeessir," both Jason and Belum replied returning to their places in the locker room. Another problem was faced by the family. Not enough money to support the family. A dark turnout on an attack toward Alia. And now fight broken out by Jason and Belum. The family's road is only go down from here.
Alia and Marvin get better jobs: November 26th, 2005- Alia and Marvin were both returning from their jobs where they wanted to meet Jason at their home in New York. They've been having to make very big changes as they have moved into a small apartment in Queens Jackson Heights. Jason had been assessed for a high school and has been accepted in Baccalaureate high school in Queens. Everyone was bringing good news to the table.
As Marvin sat down getting ready for dinner, Alia brought over some fried fish whispering to Marvin of her having some really good news for the family. Marvin replied saying the same thing. "Jason take a seat right here. Alright before we eat dinner I wanted to say that I have found a job in another hotel as the Marketing Manager with a high pay of 24 dollars per hour. I've also thought about working as a taxi driver every Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and Tuesday night. With my time schedule I'll be able to make 1112 dollars a week topping it with 40 more dollars than what I used to make. So that's all I wanted to say," Marvin finished telling of his success in the recent week.
"Well I have really good news myself," Alia said looking toward Jason hoping for some excitement to build up. "I have found my own job at Dunkin Donuts to be the head Manager and to also to work as a maid for Mansion services. I'll be getting about 843 dollars a week while coming home at 5:00 Pm everyday and having Saturdays as off. How do you like THAT MARVIN?" Alia finished with her news.
"I think I have the best news here for this week and that it is about my school. I've been accepted to receive a scholarship toward college and because of the state we are… I mean we were in, I've also been gifted 600 dollars toward our rent and bills. I'm not done yet though! I've also been accepted in to the school football team as the Quarterback and I've earned the MVP title in the school and of the city!" Jason said happily and excitedly toward both of his parents as his smile rang up.

Epilogue: The Abidin family has faced a lot in the past few years as they tackled financial, emotional and physical problems after September 11th. They fought hard and kept their head up until they could rest. Here you see their fate as a family and how accomplished they've become, much much more than what they were before the attack on the World Trade Center. This event has made the family bond stronger and brought them to success. Soon after they found good wealth, Marvin became promoted at his job back to where he came from. He became so accomplished to his achievements that his old employer fought to bring him back with a few thousand dollars that was soon used to put Jason in the top college in state. Alia herself has found some success, Alia was involved in an earth movement group where she helped many homeless families in Southern Asia with water, food, shelter, and love. For her duty she was awarded the Rosetta Scott Pullman's certificate to being a dedicated worker in her force. Along with her certificate she came across a job in cleaning management where she earned high pay and be able to come home by 3:00 and spend her weekends at home. Jason felt a large brunt in his life's change. Going off to college he became part of the top 10 Quarterbacks in the league. He is now working towards a P.H.D. and a degree in doctoring. He has also given thought to becoming a pro football player after college and to take in a job as a Pediatrician afterwards. This family has come together worked hard together and almost been broken up into shards of glass yet they still clinch the thought of having a good life.
